As the weather warms up, many people begin their spring cleaning. However, instead of throwing away all those old things in the back of the closet, a more practical and profitable way to get rid of unwanted items is simply to sell them. There are a multitude of websites and apps that make it a breeze to resell used items. Here are some of the best places to sell things and make some extra money:
When trends die down, most people tend to throw away or donate their clothes without a second thought. Though this is often the most efficient choice when it comes to getting rid of unwanted clothing, a more profitable option is given by many apps and websites that serve to help old clothes find new homes. Poshmark and Depop are just two of many popular services that people use to list and sell apparel. For a small commission fee, both of these trustworthy and widely-used services connect buyers and sellers throughout the nation. Thanks to the millions of people who use these apps regularly, it doesn’t take long for most clothes to sell, providing sellers with a generous profit in no time at all.
Other ways to sell used clothing are to take them to a local used clothing store. Most of these stores will buy gently-worn clothes at a reasonable price. In Richmond area, some of these consignment stores include Clothes Mentor and Plato’s Closet.
With new phone models coming out on the regular, most people have a few old phones lying around at home. Many people upload listings of old gadgets on websites like eBay. However, the process includes listing fees that are nonrefundable even if the listed item does not sell. An easier way to resell these electronics
without a hassle is through services like NextWorth and Gazelle, which buy most unwanted electronics in decent condition. Target, Best Buy, and Apple are three other places that will exchange certain electronics for gift cards. When selling, it is important to keep in mind that while most of these services will purchase gently-used, recent phone models such as the iPhone 5 or 6, it may be difficult to earn a profit from slightly more dated or worn-out electronics.
