Scifi Club

Bella Pendleton

SciFi, short for Science Fiction, is defined as a form of fiction based on scientific knowledge. Here at Cosby High School, there is an entire club dedicated to just that. They meet every Thursday after school from 2-3PM in room 342, and meetings are led by William Waddell, who is a science teacher at Cosby High School.

Each year, the club starts meeting the second week of school and that is when the members split into four houses, mirroring the Harry Potter series. They play many games, including a monthly celebration for the full moon called, ¨Werewolf.¨ They also play ¨The Match Game¨ which is an old game show, but they replace clues with Sci-Fi scenarios.

They also are involved with many things outside of school as well. For example, they have a booth at the Chesterfield Library System’s annual Comic-Con, and they also have a float in the school’s homecoming parade. Sci Fi club takes in many new members each year, so if this sounds like something that would interest you, then just check for sign ups and pay the $10 in the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year!
