Cosby Takes the Plunge into a New Possibility for Students

For the 2015-2016 school year, Chesterfield County granted each high school permission to form a swim team as an afterschool club. The swim season ran from November 9th to February 7th and was completely parent funded. Practices are held at the Woodlake Swim & Racquet Club from 8:00PM-9:00PM.Forty swimmers registered this year.

no one sits on the bench,” she said. The teams encourage fitness, self-confidence, discipline, and teamwork.

As it comes to the end of their season, the swimmers have already begun to anticipate next season. Chelsey Kidd, the representative and coordinator for Cosby, is excited that history was made during this first year of the Cosby swim team. Due to the success, more swim spots will be open for anyone who would like to take part of this newly established club.
